Pannekoeken

Here's one of my favorite breakfast foods: Pannekoeken (Dutch Pancakes)!

Ingredients:
1 cup flour
pinch of salt
2 eggs
2 cups of milk
butter

Directions:
Mix the flour and salt in a bowl
Make a hole in the center and add the eggs
Add 1 cup of milk and stir with a whisk or mixer until smooth
Add the rest of the milk while stirring
Heat some butter in a large pan
Add about 1/4 cup batter and tip pan to allow batter to cover the entire surface
Cook on medium heat
Flip the pannekoek after the dough has set and the bottom is golden brown

Serving Ideas:
For sweet pannekoeken, serve with maple syrup, agave syrup, powdered sugar, Nutella, whipped cream, strawberries, blueberries, apple & cinnamon, raisins, banana or blackberries. These ingredients can all be added when serving.

For hearty pannekoeken, my favorite is pannekoeken with Gouda cheese. You can also add bacon and/or ham. For bacon/ham pannekoeken, add the topping right after you've shaped your pannekoek. For cheese pannekoeken, add the cheese after you've flipped the pannekoek.

Tips:
If you want sweeter pannekoeken, you can add 1 tbsp of sugar to the flour.
Make the batter ~30-60 minutes before you plan to cook the pannekoeken.
Keep the pannekoeken warm by placing them in the oven or under some foil.
Add a little bit of butter to the pan before making each pannekoek.
